Brief History of the Department

Establishment

Establishment : June, 1975

Department has well equipped undergraduate laboratory. Department has internet facility and all the computers of the department are connected by departmental LAN. All the faculties of the department are actively engaged in research and a department has one major and one minor research project. Two major research projects have been submitted to UGC. Department has subscribed to the UGC-Infonet Digital Library Consortium. The Consortium provides current as well as archival access to more than 7500+ core and peer-reviewed journals and 10 bibliographic databases from 26 publishers and aggregators in different disciplines. Departmental research laboratory is recognized for M. Phil. and Ph.D. by Shivaji University, Kolhapur and two students are working towards their doctoral degree.

To introduce and popularize the study of physics by the way of graduate studies and to develop new generation with competency in the field of physics.

To enable the student to acquire the knowledge of principles, techniques and processes in physics.

1  To achieve academic excellence and overall development of the students in physics to meet the international standards.2

3  To develop an ability to select and apply known laws and principles of physics .
4  To develop scientific attitude among the students .
5  To fetch research projects from different funding agencies and develop sophisticated research laboratory.

2  Yash Ambole - 1st Prize in intra university Avishkar poster competition and (2018) 1st Prize in poster competition at 3  Ghodawat University, Jaysingpur
3  Vaibhav Raut- 1st Prize in poster competition in national conference  at KBP college, Islampur (2019)
4  35 students have taken admission to post graduation
5  Miss. Aishwarya Mungale  -  Project selected for A- List Ranking Project organized by Team Indus, Banglore Pursuing Ph.D    at Center for nano and soft matter science, Bangalore
